Which kitchen layout actually suits your Adelaide home?
Open-plan feels bigger and better for entertaining. Galley (or narrow-U) is more efficient to work in and much cheaper to renovate. The right choice depends on the home's era, whether you have a wall you can legally remove, and how you actually use the space day to day.
Depends on whether the wall is load-bearing. Adelaide double-brick homes (Victorian, Edwardian, mid-century bungalow) usually have multiple load-bearing walls between kitchen and living. Removing one needs an engineer's design, a beam (usually LVL or steel), and $8k-$25k in structural work + patching. Get an engineer's report BEFORE quoting the renovation.
