BuildPilot is committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) ("Privacy Act") and adheres to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information. By using our platform, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Collection, Use, and Storage of Personal Information

We may collect personal information such as full names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, domain names, user preferences, and other relevant data, including usage metrics of the platform and interactions with advertisements.

Personal information may be collected directly from you or through representatives or agents acting on your behalf.

We collect personal information for purposes including but not limited to:

• Providing and improving our services;
• Marketing our services and relevant third-party advertisements to you;
• Offering discounts, benefits, or other promotions;
• Informing you of initiatives, updates, or developments in the home building and construction sectors;
• Identifying current and potential customers;
• Complying with legal requirements;
• Any purpose consented to by you.

Advertising Data Collection

Advertisements displayed on our platform may use cookies, pixels, or similar tracking technologies to collect non-personally identifiable data such as browsing behaviour, device information, and user preferences. These technologies are used to improve ad relevance and platform performance.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Personal information may be disclosed to:

• Third-party service providers for delivering our services, including advertising platforms;
• Advertising partners for analytics and performance tracking, in compliance with this Privacy Policy;
• Contractors or suppliers located overseas, including but not limited to the Philippines, India, and Vietnam, under binding privacy principles similar to the APPs;

Protection of Personal Information

We use secure storage systems, restricted access controls, and encrypted communication to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Personal information stored in the Cloud may also be subject to international backup procedures.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our platform uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance user experience and track interactions with advertisements. You may disable cookies in your browser settings; however, doing so may limit certain platform functionalities. For more details, please see our Cookie Policy.

AI and Automated Processing

BuildPilot uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to assist with features including recommendations, matchmaking, content generation, quote comparison and design visualisation. We use models provided by reputable third-party AI suppliers. These providers may change over time.

Outputs from AI-assisted features are indicative and general in nature, not personalised professional advice. No fully automated decision is made about you that has a significant effect on you without a human in the loop. Where data you submit is processed by an AI provider, it is processed under those providers' terms and our contracts with them, which restrict training use of your personal information.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the platform. Each provider only processes the personal information needed for the specific service it provides, under contractual privacy obligations. Categories of providers we use include:

• Cloud database, authentication and workspace storage providers
• Transactional and marketing email delivery providers
• SMS verification and notification providers
• Third-party AI providers for AI-assisted features
• Spam protection and bot-detection providers
• Payment processors (where applicable)

Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia. Where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is protected in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Data Breaches

In the event of an "eligible data breach" as defined by Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), BuildPilot will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.

Children

BuildPilot is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, please contact us at home@buildpilot.com.au.

Access, Correction and Deletion of Personal Information

You may access or correct your personal information at any time by contacting us at home@buildpilot.com.au. We will respond to such requests promptly.

Deleting your account. If you have a BuildPilot workspace account, you can permanently delete your account and the personal information associated with it at any time:

• Sign in to your workspace, go to Settings, and tap Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm before any data is removed.
• Or email us at home@buildpilot.com.au with the subject line "Delete my account" and we will action your request.

Deleting your account removes your profile, saved briefs, shortlists and account data. We may retain a limited record of transactions, communications or other information where we are required to do so by law (for example, taxation, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution records), or where the information has been irreversibly de-identified.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is subject to change at BuildPilot's discretion. Updates will be posted on our platform, and continued use constitutes agreement to the revised terms.
